Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina in Cape Coral, Florida, is adding a weekly arts-and-crafts workshop series called “Makers Monday” to its programming calendar, running every Monday at 6 p.m. from July through September under The Helm, the venue’s main bar pavilion, according to a release distributed by Priority Marketing.

Local artist Stefanie Karas is leading all of July’s sessions as Paint & Sip classes ($45, including materials and one beverage); workshops run 25 to 75 participants, require advance registration, and tickets are nonrefundable. Slipaway is now recruiting local artists to lead the August and September installments. The venue, at the foot of the Cape Coral Bridge on the Caloosahatchee River, opened in July 2025 as Cape Coral’s first food truck park, marina and waterfront event venue, and now houses 10 resident food trucks — including Addison’s On The Go, Chop It Up, Gigi Gourmet and Not Yo Mama’s Tacos — alongside a full-service bar, 26 boat docks and 1,370 feet of waterfront boardwalk. Makers Monday joins existing recurring programming at the property, including its Sip & Shop Night Market and Wags on the Water pet-vendor events; the operators previously sought $2.8 million in Cape Coral CRA funding to help build out the site.

Why it matters: A food truck park is fixed real estate with a fixed set of tenants — the only lever an operator has to grow revenue without adding trucks is programming. Makers Monday turns Slipaway from a once-a-visit dinner destination into a weekly draw, and it does it by outsourcing content to local makers rather than paying for it: artists get a paid venue without a craft-fair booth fee, Slipaway gets recurring foot traffic on an otherwise slow weeknight, and the resident food trucks get a built-in Monday crowd they didn’t have to market for themselves.
